Former All-CAA Defender of the Year and 2019 MLS Draft pick, Danny Reynolds, joins the SRUSA Team.

SRUSA is delighted to announce that former NCAA D1 Athlete and MLS Draft pick,Danny Reynolds, joins the SRUSA team as a scout for North America.

Danny joins the SRUSA team with a wealth of collegiate experience having successfully represented the men's soccer programs at the University of Louisville and the University of North Carolina Wilmington, at the NCAA Division 1 level.

During his time in the US, Reynolds was named the Colonial Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Year as well as earning 1st-Team All-CAA and NCCSIA All-State honors. After his senior season, Danny then went on to become the second player in UNCW men's soccer history to be selected in the Major League Soccer SuperDraft when he was chosen by reigning MLS champion Seattle Sounders FC's as the 35th selection overall in 2019 MLS Superdraft.

After numerous conversations with Danny, we are delighted to officially welcome him on board as part of the SRUSA team and look forward to seeing him progress within the role. His experiences and knowledge of the college route, will provide our clients with the perfect example of what it takes to compete at the highest level in college soccer. Danny will bring a fantastic perspective to the SRUSA team and look to discover players capable of following in his footsteps and reaching the professional level.

Here’s what Danny had to say about his new role at SRUSA:

What excites you about joining the SRUSA team?

After speaking to the people that work for SRUSA, I believe in the vision that they have for their clients. Many of the SRUSA team have enjoyed their experiences across the United States and when that is combined together to help new clients, I really believe that it is a recipe for success. I am excited about helping guide people through the process as well as watching them succeed once I have helped them find their new home.

How was your experience in the US, and what advice would you give to others thinking of going down the College Soccer route?

My experience in college in the United States was unforgettable. I enjoyed two brilliant universities in the University of Louisville and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington (UNCW). I earned my degree in psychology from UNCW in December 2019 and was drafted 35th overall pick in the 2020 MLS Superdraft by the Seattle Sounders FC. I am currently signed professionally with Tacoma Defiance, who is Seattle Sounders FC second team. My advice to others thinking about going down the college soccer route is to think about what they want out of the experience. Many people get attracted to the size of the school, or the quality of the stadium. From my experience, I really believe that you will have an unforgettable time if you trust the people around you, such as your coaches and teammates.

How do you think your experience as a College Soccer Athlete will help you in your new role as a SRUSA Scout?

I think my experience in college soccer will benefit me in my new role as an SRUSA scout because of the connections that I made with people throughout my years. I also believe that going through the recruiting process on my own will help me add a new dimension to the SRUSA team. My experience as a college soccer player will help me in answering any prospective clients questions as well guiding them in making their own decisions.

What are your expectations upon joining the SRUSA team?

My expectations are to help prospective clients find the right place for them. I wouldn't be joining the SRUSA team if I didn't believe in their vision for their clients. I want to add to the SRUSA success and make sure that clients are happy and always have a person that they can reach out to if they have any questions.

Welcome to the #SRUSA family Danny.
