Former NCAA DII All-Region Student-Athlete,Abdul Mansaray, joins SRUSA as a Scout

SRUSA is excited to announce that former NCAA DII Student Athlete & All-Region Selection Abdul Mansaray joins the teams as a Scout for SRUSA.

Abdul, originally from London, England, continues to compete at a high level after receiving many trial invitations in USA after completing his collegiate career. Abdul's advanced knowledge & experience of the college system makes him a huge asset for everyone involved within SRUSA and can’t wait to see him flourish in his new role with us here at SRUSA.

Here’s what Abdul had to say about his new role at SRUSA:

What excites you about joining the SRUSA team?

The main aspect of SRUSA that excites me is the fact that I will be able to help people with the process I went through to go to the states. It was a real battle for me to get to the states with my family’s financial situation & background. I had to defeat the obstacles with minimal help. I know the service that I wished I could have had provided for me, so I’m mainly excited to be able to be the person that I wish I had helping me through my journey.

How was your experience in the US, and what advice would you give to others thinking of going down the College Soccer route?

My college experience was hands down the best experience I have ever had from the schedule set out day to day for you to the social life. I loved it in the US and it was easy to get use to everything as you have teammates that are going through the same process as you. My only advice would be just be on top of your duties. Whether it be on the field or off make sure that you do every task given to you in a timely manner.

How do you think your experience as a College Soccer Athlete will help you in your new role as a SRUSA Scout?

After being involved with this system, I am highly knowledgeable for many areas varying from eligibility requirements, NCAA requirements, daily schedules, behavioural expectations etc. Living in the states for 4 years really helped me grow on and off the field. I am confident that everything I took on makes me very qualified to do my new role at SRUSA.

What are your expectations upon joining the SRUSA team?

I’m looking forward to being part of a team again which is an aspect that excites me. From the people working for SRUSA to clients. I expect to go through this journey with the company and strive to complete my personal goals as I am very goal driven. I can’t wait to get started.

Welcome to the #SRUSAfamily Abdul.
