NEW STAFF: Former College Soccer Player, Ruari Croskery, joins as scout for Ireland.

We are excited to announce that former Manchester United Youth Team Player and Limestone College Student-Athlete, Ruari Croskery will be joining the SRUSA team as a scout for Ireland.

Croskery, formerly of Limestone College and the Manchester United Academy, will be joining the SRUSA team in Ireland to provide young Irish talent with the opportunity to further themselves through the US College Soccer system.

Ruari, has competed at the top youth level and knows what it takes to make the successful transition to the US. He will be looking to utilize his experience and knowledge of the College system to help other talent players follow in his foot steps, and further themselves through the US Soccer pathway.

Here's what Ruari had to say about joining SRUSA;

What excites you about Joining the SRUSA team?

There are many things to be excited about, but for me personally I’m looking forward to helping players take that step further into the college experience. I am also looking forward to working with a great team and bringing talented players through our ranks, it is something that excites me greatly.

How was your experience in the US, and what advice would you give to others thinking of going down the College Soccer route?

My college experience in the US was amazing, I do not regret a thing about it and enjoyed every minute on and off the pitch. You become such a huge family with your teammates which always makes the experience a lot better. My advice would be to go for it, there is so many positives which comes from going down this route. There is always the option of going professional after college, but getting a degree while playing the sport you love is a fantastic opportunity.

How do you think your experience as a College Soccer Athlete will help you in your new role as a SRUSA Scout?

I believe my experience will play a massive part in my role. I have been through it all and experienced a lot during my time in America. It allowed me to learn a variety of things such as the style of play and also the educational standards of US Colleges.

What are your expectations upon joining the SRUSA team?

My expectations are very high, after speaking with the team I believe we will bring in a lot of top talent from Ireland. We are able to offer players first hand experience of the college system and lifestyle as we have all our staff have been through it. We have a lot of talented players here in Ireland which don’t know enough about the US College Soccer pathway and I look forward to helping them out.

Welcome to the #SRUSAFamily Ruari.
