Sports Recruiting USA are delighted to announce that Sarah Lewis has joined the team as a scout in the United Kingdom. Sarah is working at the top youth level in England and will be looking to help players in her local area and beyond with the dream of becoming student athletes in America.
We spoke with Sarah and she talked us through her new role as a scout and how she is wanting to help players with the student athlete pathway to America.
What excites you about joining the SRUSA Team?
I’m looking forward to being part of a team that can help young athletes achieve their goals. SRUSA provides an incredible pathway for talented players and I want to help with that.
Having being involved in the women’s and girls game, what are your thoughts on the pathway to America?
I’m so excited for players and a little jealous that the pathway wasn’t really there when I was playing! I would have loved to have gone to the States to play! It’s come a long way and fantastic and realistic opportunities are now there for players who work hard.
How do you think your experience in the women’s and girls game will help you in your new role at SRUSA?
I’ve worked in both grassroots and at professional clubs and I see the challenges and barriers female players have. I’m also incredibly passionate about developing players and helping them to achieve their potential.
What are your expectations about joining the SRUSA team.
I am looking forward to the challenge and working with a great team. I’d expect there to be some tough decisions to be made because of the high standards from the players.
